A state-of-the-art worker accommodation camp is taking shape at Dinawan, near Coleambally NSW, as part of Australia’s largest transmission project.

The 460-bed facility will house Transgrid and Elecnor Australia personnel building a world-class substation and transmission line as construction of EnergyConnect moves east towards Wagga Wagga.

Australian Portable Camps has delivered 150 buildings to the 1.5ha camp site with facilities to include a laundry, kitchen, dining room, games room, spiritual room and gym as well as a water treatment plant.

The Dinawan camp is one of six worker accommodation facilities along the 700km project alignment, housing up to 1,400 workers.

The camps ensure personnel are safe and comfortable while working away from home and bring more people into local communities without adding pressure to limited housing and accommodation.
