Elecnor Australia is proud to announce that it has achieved a significant milestone with the energisation of the first section of the new Buronga substation in south-western NSW.

Specialist teams have connected the 220kV section to the existing Buronga substation allowing power to flow in from the network for the first time.

Behind the scenes, this process has required extraordinary technical expertise and collaboration involving key civil, electrical, construction, commissioning and overhead transmission line specialists.

Teams have worked on every piece of high voltage equipment to secure and prepare the transition to energy production before the network can go live next month.

Energy operators around the world are watching what we are doing at the Buronga substation as we power up Australia and set new benchmarks for others to follow.
