Overview

The Jasmund substation will provide a critical link between the Windanker Offshore Wind Farm and the German power grid.
To support project progress, Mammoet has successfully relocated the topside from the fabrication hall, enabling HSM Offshore Energy BV to proceed with their next project.

Scope of Mammoet’s Involvement

  • Relocation of the 4,162-tonne substation topside
  • Use of 190 axle lines of Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMT) for movement
  • Deployment of a CC6800 crane for installation support

Onshore Integration Works

  • Fitting of:
    • Transformers
    • Shunts
    • Coolers
    • Pedestal crane
  • Execution of onshore fit-out reduced the need for a sheerleg vessel
  • Resulted in a shortened installation schedule

Project Benefits

  • Cleared fabrication space for the next module
  • Optimised schedule due to onshore installations
  • Reduced logistical complexity offshore
