Major Renewable Infrastructure Deal Signed

EnergyCo has officially signed a contract with ACEREZ – a consortium comprising ACCIONA AU & NZ, COBRA, and Endeavour Energy (NSW) – to deliver and operate critical energy infrastructure in the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ).

Project Highlights

  • 4.5 GW of new network capacity by 2028
  • Connecting 7.7 GW of wind and solar projects
  • Enough clean energy to power over 2 million homes annually

Economic and Regional Impact

  • Supports 5,000+ construction jobs at peak
  • Drives $20 billion in private investment by 2030
  • Major economic stimulus for the Central-West Orana region and NSW statewide

Timeline

  • Early works commenced in February 2025
  • Construction expected to begin mid-2025
