Construction of EnergyConnect is ramping up on the 540km eastern alignment from Buronga to Wagga Wagga. A 50ha site at Dinawan, near Coleambally, is a hive of activity as construction of a world-class substation, equipment laydown, and worker accommodation camp moves into overdrive.
⚡This 330kV substation will enable better power flows between NSW, Victoria and South Australia and support the development of new electricity generation in nominated renewable energy zones in the region.
Some of the key tasks currently underway include:
☑️Bulk earthworks with 160,000 tonnes of material to be brought in to create the bench. This is equivalent to 4,500 truck and dog loads.
☑️The installation of two synchronous condensers and transformers, four shunt reactors, and two capacitor banks.
☑️A state-of-the-art camp that can accommodate up to 460 workers
